Welcome to the Catholic Coalition!

Yes, good people, we did it! Hope you took a close look at the faces in the blog photo on our home page. Each one tells a different story about their unique involvement in the first project of our Catholic Coalition of Orange County. Each one represents many others who, while not immortalized in this photo, contributed time, labor, dollars, and their own stories to the first collective building of homes by the Catholic Church in Orange County in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County. There is no better proselytizing about the power of our faith than what we are doing here! The challenge now is to keep up the good work using the same mix of innovative fundraising activities, volunteer hours, and energy.

Here are photos of the completed Tustin homes that many of you may have not seen as we flooded you with pictures of homes-yet-in-progress in the past. Yes, real people now live here and we were able to get two veteran families into these homes just in time for the holidays.  What an accomplishment!

Our next project is literally rising from the ground in Richman Park in Fullerton as we write this blog and we will have photos for you in the coming months as we track the progress of construction. To fast forward to the end, if you can’t wait, below is the architect’s rendition of the finished structures (remarkably like what Habitat OC actually produces)!

Our immediate goals are to grow the number of participants in the Catholic Coalition and to activate fundraising so that becoming a Cornerstone Builder Sponsor becomes a reality. The Catholic Church in Orange County has many faces and entities that will help us once we all get the word out. We can’t do it without you!
