Now on to Phase II!

Volunteers and crew members lift up the very first
frame of Phase II.

The morning was cold and cloudy and looked like it might rain. Thankfully, we were blessed with good weather for our Fullerton Phase II Framing Day on Saturday, January 11, 2020.

It was a strange feeling, to be back at the site where we poured our hearts and souls into for the better part of 2019, only to see four new beautiful homes standing where we once stood. Across the alleyway lay the site of our next project: four new homes for four hardworking families.

Everyone greeted one another with excitement, ready to get started. Although previous Framing Days have been cause for celebration, with blessings from faith and community leaders, families slated for Phase II homes have already begun their sweat equity with the Phase I development. It seemed best to jump right into framing.

Among the groups represented were Neighborhood Builders AAA, the Presbyterian Coalition, the Catholic Coalition and a Phase II program family.

A lunch of Jersey Mikes sub sandwiches was provided by the Habitat OC Volunteer Services department.

After a long and arduous day of lifting and hammering, all of our amazing volunteers and crew raised all the frames for the next four homes.

The next upcoming Catholic Coalition Build Day is set for Saturday, February 8.
